This week, I’ve learned many new things about painting walls, which I probably should have learned before Erica and I started painting the mural on the deck of the Creative Healing Center. It is more therapeutic than you would think too!

1) ALWAYS make sure that you have enough tarp to cover the surfaces near the area where you are painting.
2) ALWAYS tape the tarp down.
3) Make sure you measure the amount of space you are painting.
4) When buying multiple colors of paint, make sure to vary between darker and brighter hues so that whatever you’re painting is nicer to look at.
5) Make sure to chip ALL under layers of paint before painting over it. (This can be a huge problem/mess).
6) Be flexible and go with the flow. Sometimes art doesn’t go exactly the way you want it to.
7) Paint outdoors only if you know that it will have at least 2 hours before it rains.
8) Give yourself enough time to complete a given project.

Here are a few pictures from project this week (I obviously couldn’t be in the picture because I was taking the picture). Hopefully we will finish this week – if not, we will finish later in the summer.
