Monday at V-Prep

Monday was the first day we were working with a new girl named Jessica from Beachwood. It turns out she is friends with a lot of my friends from Beachwood and went to Beachwood prom with my cousin. Since I went to Beachwood prom the weekend before, I got to meet her the weekend before we started working together. She’s really cool. Anyways, we spent the morning making posters for the kindergarten and first grade classrooms and doing other sorts of busy work. Jessica was kind of confused, because she thought we would primarily be working with the kids, but we assured her that the afternoon would be rewarding and the busy work was really helpful to the teachers, though it’s often pretty boring and tedious. After lunch, we taught Jessica how to do the DRA reading testing and we tested the kids for awhile. I wish I could count how many times the kids asked if Elissa, Jessica, and I were sisters, cousins, or related. None of us look anything alike. They are so innocent and adorable and a lot less snobby than the Hawken kids were. I wish I could steal one. Putting morals, the law, and common sense aside, I really just feel like I wouldn’t graduate if I did that.
