a start to an interesting week!

He’s baaaaack! Tom, the manager of the kitchen, that is. I didn’t really get along with him before he left for a week and a half, but yesterday he was in the best mood I had ever seen him in. He told me about his trip to California—how he met with some industry leaders and also caught up with old friends. Tom had Jake tell Dan, the new intern, what to do with the juices that Erica and I usually make, while Tom taught us how to make the “smoothies/soups.” These smoothies are made with the juice that we make plus avocados, garlic, cilantro, and whatever other vegetables that are available. The process was basically just add a little and taste test until it reaches whatever flavoring you desire. (Kind of difficult when you wouldn’t want to drink the stuff in the first place.) But it was awesome because I got to eat slices of avocado with sea salt on them when we were done. YUM!

After we helped in the kitchen and had our lunches, Erica and I went on an excursion to SHERWIN WILLIAMS. I capitalized that because neither of us have gotten paint before, let alone tried to paint a huge mural on a building. Thankfully there was a really helpful woman there who let us pick our colors then helped us figure out how much of each to get. In total we got six colors of paint and spent nearly $150.00 on paint (with multiple discounts, just so you get scope of how much we bought). We now know how little we know about painting. This should be interesting…
