Day 0 for Moriah

I'm not technically starting my project until tomorrow morning, but I thought I'd give a little background and talk about some of the other important plans surrounding it.  For my actual project, I'm working sort-of for Armond Budish (the minority leader of Ohio's House of Reps) but really I'm working for Chris Glassburn, the Research Director of the Ohio Democratic Caucus.  I'm not really sure yet exactly what I'll be doing from day to day, so I'll save those details for later.   

What I did today was drive to Columbus, where I'll be living in an apartment with a few OSU students for the entire month starting Monday; until then I'm living with my brother and his friends on a futon in their apartment.   

Even though I haven't started project yet, I think I'm already having important learning moments…  It's just a taste of independence, and the responsibility that comes with it.  I just took my longest solo road trip so far since I've had my license.  Now I'm living without my parents, packing my own lunches, taking a bus to "work," and I have to be responsible enough to know when and where I should be.  My parents can't wake me up to get there on time if I oversleep.  I have to be smart enough not to take the bus alone at 11pm when all the shady old drunk men are out and about.  Not exactly 100% like real life after high school, but closer than living in the eastern suburbs of Cleveland:  not too bad of a prep for what's to come.
