Field Trip to the Zoo!

Hello everyone! I hope project is still going great. Yesterday at Village Prep, there was an all school field trip to the zoo. Jessica and I both went and we had a great time! (Lindsay couldn’t go because she was out of town ). We were both assigned to different classrooms that we were supposed to stay with for the whole day. Jessica was with Northwestern, which is a first grade classroom, and I was with Georgetown, a kindergarten classroom. All of the classes were also divided into smaller groups with around seven children and one supervisor. I was in a group with their teacher Ms. Carruthers, and six students: Asherrion, Alyse, Kylon, Sheila, Tyra and J’delle. They were all so cute and almost all of them were very well behaved.

The field trip started at 8:45 when all of the students boarded the buses. Right before we got on the bus, Asherrion begged me to sit next to her and I spent most of the day holding her hand. She was so sweet and absolutely adorable. The bus ride was pretty short but we had to wait in line for a while once we got there. We were able to see almost all of the animals while we were there. The kids loved observing all of the animals but they really enjoyed the monkeys and sliding down the snake slide. They were a little disappointed that they did not get to see the butterfly exhibit though. We were there until 2:15 and it was quite a long day. Towards the end of our time at the zoo, all of the kids just wanted to sit down and rest! Nevertheless, it was a great day at the zoo and I really had fun getting to know this group of students!
