2100 Lakeside: More of the Same + Poetry

So recently I have been spending most of my time in the computer lab helping guys with resumes and teaching a couple people some basic computer skills. On most days it has been really busy in here with people coming in and out all throughout the day, but on Fridays there is almost nobody around and the place clears out. But on Friday, because I wasn't busy with anything else, I got the opportunity to participate in a "Finding Voice" workshop, which is a poetry and creative writing class that is taught twice a month. I had been to one class earlier in my project, so I knew what to expect, but something always seems to surprise me. This time, right at the beginning, one guy came in, all dressed up about to leave for an interview, and he wanted to speak his mind and say a poem that he made up on the spot. It was incredible, what this guy had to say and I was blown away at the feeling that he put into what he was saying. He didnt think about what he was going to say, he just said it, and thats what made his words so pure. This is really what these classes are about and I'm glad I get an opportunity to participate and hear what some of these men have to say.
